Research Project
- The “iQ-Hemp” project aims to establish industrial hemp as a new income source for farms and as a sustainable economic factor in the southern Saxony-Anhalt region.
- A new hemp processing facility will be built in the Geiseltal region to produce raw materials for ecological building products from hemp straw, providing promising future perspectives for the area.
- The project includes field research on suitable hemp varieties, the development of digitalized quality management based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, and automated image-based quality assessment throughout the entire value chain, in collaboration with the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg’s Institute of Computer Science
